Coaching for the Modern Manager

Coaching for the Modern Manager is a hands-on leadership development program for supervisors ready to take the next step in their growth. As one of the advanced courses in our Supervisor Training Academy, it builds on the communication skills from The Holistic Communicator, shifting the focus from how you connect to how you lead.

Through four in-person sessions and virtual coaching check-ins, you’ll learn practical tools to strengthen your leadership, support your team, and foster a culture of collaboration. Each session is paired with a virtual community of practice for reflection, peer support, and feedback from an experienced coach. We’ll also check in with your nominating manager to support your continued growth on the job.

Whether you're leading now or preparing for a leadership role, this program will help you lead with clarity, empathy, and impact.

Session 1

  • Dive deep into Emotional Intelligence , with the SCARF® model
  • Build team effectiveness (with FourSight® Thinking profile)
  • Strengthen employees’ motivation and improve collaboration

Session 2

  • Mentoring and Coaching: identify similarities and differences 
  • Understand core coaching competences
  • Conduct coaching conversations

Session 3

  • Explore conflict styles with the Thomas–Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument®
  • Learn and apply the Crucial Conversations ® model 
  • Build a culture of psychological safety and trust

Session 4

  • Program review
  • Planning for implementation
  • Completion ceremony

Supervisory Training Academy Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made before registration closes are not subject to a cancellation fee. After registration closes, the following fees apply:
  • At least 48 hours before the course starts: $50 cancellation fee.
  • Less than 48 hours before the course starts: 50% of the total course price.
  • After the course begins: The full course price is due, regardless of attendance.
Cancellation fees will be deducted from any refund due. If payment has not yet been made, the applicable cancellation fee remains due. Participants who do not attend without canceling are responsible for the full course price.
