MECHS students get a wide variety of experiences, both in and out of the classroom.
They were fortunate to meet Valentino Dixon this past spring, during his exhibit at the Albright Knox art gallery.
Native Buffalonian Dixon was wrongfully convicted of a crime and sentenced to prison, even though the actual perpetrator admitted to the crime just days later. A gifted artist as a child, Dixon reconnected with his art as a way to manage prison life. Thanks to dedicated work by three Georgetown University undergraduate students, Dixon was exonerated and released in 2018.
Valentino Dixon has received national acclaim for his golf art, and was featured in Golf Digest Magazine.
We are grateful, and thank him for the time he spent speaking with, and inspiring, our MECHS students.
Please visit Valentino Dixon to learn more about his incredible story.
